In this webinar, we will discuss what Germicidal Lighting is, whether it is safe, which methodologies might apply to your business, and where it might be used. We will also discuss the GBAC Star™ Facility Accreditation Program which is designed to help facilities establish a comprehensive system of cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention for your staff, your customers, and your buildings.

As the COVID-19 pandemic drags on and on, and shutdowns lead to re-openings, lead to more shutdowns — lather, rinse, repeat — many businesses are beginning to look at ways to keep their employees, customers, and anyone who enters their premises safe, regardless of the state of the health crisis.

One methodology that has garnered a lot of recent attention is Germicidal Lighting, including Germicidal UV Disinfection. Germicidal Lighting has been safely used for over 70 years. However, back in the 1940s, with the onset of antibiotics and then vaccines, Germicidal Lighting fell out of common use and became a specialty item for medical environments, such as hospitals and infectious disease clinics.

Is it time for Germicidal Lighting to make a comeback? Many seem to think so! Manufacturers are flooding the market with products, many untested and unproven, in an attempt to take advantage of fear, uncertainty, and doubt. At the same time, manufacturers who have been working with germicidal products for years are struggling to keep up with increased demand, as schools, offices, sports venues, concert halls, restaurants, hotels, and others, express an urgent need to make their facilities safe as soon as possible.

In this 60-minute webinar, Lisa Passamonte Green, CEO and Principal-in-Charge of Visual Terrain, and Christine Marez, Vice President at Cumming, will provide an overview of the history, current state, and efficacy of germicidal lighting for different types of facilities, and explain how it can be a part of your comprehensive cleaning and disinfecting systems.
