Cumming Group is providing project and cost management services for MUSC’s new 625,000-s.-ft. Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Women’s Pavilion. Cumming Group was rehired by MUSC after our performance on various projects for the client since 2003, such as their Ashley Tower. The Children’s Hospital and Women’s Pavilion will be a high-end facility focused on tertiary and quaternary cases in South Carolina and the Lowcountry region. The building consists of an 11-story bed tower and six story diagnostic and treatment building. The new facility, which is phase two of a 30-year hospital replacement program, will hold about 200 patient beds. This facility will also include a neonatal intensive care unit, a pediatric intensive care unit, a large labor and delivery unit, a special care nursery, and specialized children’s emergency services. Associated scope includes numerous security elements. The Pavilion is scheduled to be completed during the third quarter of 2019. The approximate cost of this program is $385 million. The delivery method is CM-at-Risk.
