VALENCIA, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2019) – Opening its doors to the surrounding Santa Clarita community this week, the new Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Patient Tower houses the latest technologies for specialized medical and maternity patients.
The brand new $163 million, 119-bed patient tower is six-stories high and sits on the existing Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital campus. Cumming, an international construction consultant, managed the work for the 159,000 square foot Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Patient Tower during the past three years. The Tower project included the construction of a new blood bank, central sterile, roof top Helipad with new pathway to the emergency department, two new maternity operating rooms with support spaces, and a separate obstetrics emergency department, which will start accepting patients at a later date.
In addition to the building itself, Cumming’s project and cost management teams oversaw the development of a new CT scanner room, pharmacy space upgrade, central utility plant to support the patient tower, a large loading dock, PBX relocation, new campus egress lighting, and related site work.
“Helping create cutting-edge healthcare environments in which patients can receive the best care and allows health professionals to perform at optimal levels is something we are very proud of here at Cumming,” said Gary Todd, Senior Project Manager at Cumming.
Experts in healthcare project and cost management, Cumming’s team provides construction services on behalf of some of the largest healthcare systems across the country.
