Construction teams recently began development on Marriott International’s first newly built Westin-branded resort in Southern California in more than 25 years.

Slated for occupancy in 2019, Cumming Construction Management, an international construction consultancy, is providing cost, scheduling and project management services on behalf of Wincome Group, a local real estate investment, development and management firm.

The Westin Anaheim Resort will be directly adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center, which is currently undergoing a $245 million expansion. The seven-story hotel will include 613 guestrooms, including 101 suites, as well as three restaurants, two bars, a rooftop lounge that will overlook the nightly Disneyland Resort fireworks, a fitness center, a resort-style pool surrounded by tropical landscaping and a marketplace for hotel guests.

To cater to the city’s growing demand for meeting and corporate event venues, the hotel will also include 11 meeting rooms totaling 42,000 square feet of customizable meeting space, including a 16,000-square-foot grand ballroom.

Experts in complex hospitality project and cost management services, Cumming Construction Management will be overseeing all construction phases for the Westin Anaheim Resort to make sure the project stays within budget and adheres to the timeline established by the developer.
