MYRTLE BEACH, SC – (July 19, 2017) – Cumming, an international project management and cost consulting firm, along with CM at Risk contractor W. M. Jordan Company, have topped out the new $50 million South Bay Inn & Suites on 6PthP Ave North Ocean Blvd developed by Bayshore LLC.
One of two new hotels slated to open within the next year at the popular tourist location, construction kicked off on the 237,000-square-foot South Bay Inn & Suites last July and despite initial logistics challenges, the project’s team has been able to keep the hotel’s development on schedule for its highly-anticipated summer 2018 opening.
The 19-story oceanfront hotel will include 242 guest rooms, an exercise gym, game room, full service bar area and sit-down restaurant. Envisioned to be the premier family-friendly hotel in the area, the South Bay Inn & Suites will also have an onsite waterpark featuring two slides, a lazy river, a dedicated small kids water play area, a larger pool, and two separate hot tubs.
Experts in hospitality construction project and cost management services, Cumming is providing overall project management on behalf of well-known local developer, Mr. George Buchanan and Bayshore LLC. Cumming will be overseeing construction to make sure the program stays within budget and adheres to the timeline.
South Bay Inn & Suites was designed by e3 studio and TAG Architecture. These two firms provided architecture and graphic design services. Also involved is Warren & Harmon Commercial Interiors (WHCI). WHCI is one of Myrtle Beach’s premier interior design companies and the firm will be provided interior design services for the new Hotel.
