South Carolina State Museum, Columbia, SC

Opened in August 2014, the expanded and renovated South Carolina State Museum is the first of its kind in the United States to have all of the following under one roof: an on-site and online observatory and classroom, a 55-foot digital planetarium dome and theater, a 4D multi-sensory theater, and an outdoor telescope viewing terrace and distance learning studio. A world-class vintage telescope and astronomical instruments collection was donated to the museum as a result of this project.
