Cumming Corp., a San Diego-headquartered construction project management firm with offices worldwide, announced Feb. 1 that it is acquiring and merging with London-based consulting firm GB Fitzsimon. Financial details were not disclosed.

A Cumming statement said GB Fitzsimon was founded in 1989 by Keith Gilchrist, Paul Lawson and Doug Stuart. That firm’s leadership team will continue to oversee its current and future projects in Europe, with Cumming to provide international resources to drive growth in the region.

GB Fitzsimon has offices in London and Glasgow, according to its website.

Cumming Founder and CEO Finlay Cumming worked at GB Fitzsimon earlier in his career. “When confronted with the opportunity to merge our two companies, the decision was an easy one,” Cumming said in the statement.

Cumming does project management, cost consulting and related work, specializing in the commercial, hospitality, retail, entertainment, education, healthcare, and high-end residential sectors. The company’s recent clients have included Starwood Capital, Google, Kaiser Permanente, Facebook and Disney.

Cumming was founded in 1996 and is currently headquartered in Carmel Mountain Ranch, with 22 other U.S. offices and three in the Middle East.
